Alcide De Gasperi Univeristy of Euroregional Economy

Maria Romana De Gasperi is a daughter of one of the post-war order founder in Europe, Alcide De Gasperi. She was born in beautifully situated town in Dolomiti, Trento. She has two children and four grandchildren. She has graduated in one of the largest Italian University “La Sapienza” in Rome. Many years she worked for her father. For three years she worked as a personal secretary of the Prime Minister.

She started collecting public and private documents, including letters, related to Alcide De Gasperi. On the basis of the materials she has published such writings:

Maria Romana De Gasperi was for 25 years a volunteer for the Red Cross. Moreover, she is Vice-President of the Alcide De Gasperi Foundation in Rome, which occupies historical and political issues. She has published many articles in “Europa” magazine. For 8 years she cooperates with weekly magazine “Avvenire”. She also patronizes international exhibition “Alcide De Gasperi – European come from the future”. She has taken part in many conferences and lectures given in Italian and foreign universities.

In 2007 Maria Romana De Gasperi visited our University on the occasion of 5th anniversary of Alcide De Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy. During the inauguration of the academic year she was our guest of honor. After the celebration she signed the book “Philosophical and social contemplations of Maria Romana De Gasperi” – polish translation of her articles published by our University.
