Life Learning Programme

Since academic year 2007/2008 known for us all Socrates/Erasmus programme will be realized as a part of a new programme “Life Learning Programme” (LLP).
Life Learning Programme is a new programme of the European Union in education and professional perfectioning, which is forseen for years 2007 – 2013. There were incorporated programmes so far realized in Socrates Programme and Leonardo da Vinci, Jean Monnet, Erasmus, e-Learning and European Language Label.
As a part of the programme “Life learning programme” there are 4 sector programmes Comenius, Erasmus, Loeonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig.
Alcide de Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy received an Erasmus Card for years 2007-2013. Our card has a wider character, which means that students of WSGE not only can spend a part of their studies abroad, but also go for a students’ internship abroad.
Erasmus Programme its name got from Erazm from Rotterdam. It was forced into life in 1987 year and it supports students exchanges from Eastern Europe of that times.
In 1995, Erasmus Programme became a part of created then a common programme Socrates, which main task was supporting education in united Europe. First phase of the programme ended up in 1999. Nowadays Programme got into the second phase of realization. Socrates II in finishing his existence in 2006/2007.
First Polish universities took part in Socrates-Erasmus Programme already in 1996/1997. Officialy Poland became a part of the Programme in March 1998. In academic year 1998/1999 in the Programme were 46 Polish universities. In academic year 2004/2005 it were almost 187 of the universities. Since 10th March 2005 in the Socrates-Erasmus Programme a member is also Alcide de Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy.

Goals that are being realized in the Socrates programme:
a. creating and supporting the European area of teaching
b. supporting the knowledge of European foreign languages
c. supporting mobility of people through the science
d. developing innovation in the science
e. balancing chances in the access to education

Above aims are realized throughout actions:
a. Comenius – an action having an impact on increase of the quality of education, thanks to support an international exchange between schools, places of professional teaching for school teachers and also teaching of foreign languages
b. Erasmus – an action which is aiming at universities. Its goal is promotion of European area of higher education. In the programme there are realized students exchanges and teachers from the universities and also there are created chains of cooperating universities
c. Grundtvig – an action which is aiming do units which take care of teaching adult people. In the programme you can approve your qualifications when you teach an adult people, promote an idea of “Life learning programme” and also organize an exchange between units teaching adults
d. Lingua – an action aiming at promoting learning of foreign languages
e. Minerva – an action which is aiming at education from a far distance, an adjusting technology of information and communication (ICT) in education
f. Eurydice – an action aiming at creating chains of information networks about educational systems, innovations, reformations and main streams of educational politics
g. Arion – an action aiming at organizing a studio visits for administrative staff of education system in different European countries
h. Socrates – Erasmus – its name comes from Erazm from Rotterdam. It was forced into life in 1987, due to promote and support an exchange of students of Common Europe of that times
In 1995, Erasmus Programme became a part of created then Socrates Programme, which his main domain was a support of education development in uniting Europe. First phase of the programme ended up in 1999. Nowadays Erasmus Programme got into the second phase of its realization. Socrates II ends its functioning in academic year 2006/2007.
The idea that comes along with Socrates Erasmus Programme was a desire of help for students in their own development. Programme supports students, who are not afraid to take the risk and they like to gain knowledge, at the same time having a great time travelling.
